What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?
One life experience I have that voters should know about is my time in the military. My service to the United States Army began at my local high school ROTC program. The comradery, discipline and skill provided during my teen years gave me focus and a path to succeed. As a wartime platoon leader during Operation Iraqi/ Enduring Freedom, I gained valuable leadership experience that translates in any environment. I am an organized, task oriented compassionate leader and that comes partially from my boots on the ground experience gained from my time on duty. Leading soldiers in my twenties changed my life and gave me the foresight to navigate new territory with diligence and transparency.
What would be your top three policy priorities in office?
My top three policy priorities will be on making Philadelphia the PPP city: Pretty, Peaceful and Productive. Pretty Philly focuses on beautification, enhancing the city’s appearance and maintaining it across all neighborhoods. Peaceful Philly focuses on increasing the city’s level of safety and re-introducing early interventions for youth to make changes at the root of the challenge to put them on the right path. Productive Philly focuses on accountability and transparency at all levels and ensuring tangible results for Philadelphia residents. In all areas, my campaign is filled with points of view and ideas that will address the challenges we’re facing. I invite everyone to visit my website for more details on my platform.
What sets you apart from other candidates?
What sets me about from other candidates is my ability to deliver results and my effort. As President of Upper North Neighbors Association, a newly formed nonprofit, I was awarded a grant from the Department of Commerce to erect a Park In A Truck (PIAT) in my neighborhood. I also spearheaded an underpass revitalization and mural project to deter short dumping. For that effort I sourced funds, process and personnel to ensure its completion. I am dedicated to task and process. The people can rely on that.
How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?
I plan to work across ideological lines by identifying common goals, setting timelines and ensuring that everyone has a voice. I truly believe that when a clear goal is set, it can be achieved with hard work, transparency and accountability by all involved. When everyone has skin in the game, ego tends to match effort.
