What is one life experience you have that voters should know about?
I have experienced many things, which in turn, has allowed me to travel this country, being exposed to many different people and their culture. The one experience I believe voters should know about me is that I am well versed, committed to serving people, well-rounded, listens to the concern of neighbors and seek to find a solution to their concerns. If given the opportunity, I would love to serve the voters of Philadelphia County as their next City Council at- Large member and extend myself to the other community in this city.
What would be your top three policy priorities in office?
I feel my top three priorities are: 1) fixing the city government departments 2) assisting our seniors and 3) creating a better system of communication for our constituents. First, I have witnessed the lack of urgency that some municipal services has rendered to our constituents. The response time for certain department needs to be adjusted because the constituents deserve quick resolution to their concerns. Second, I feel our seniors are being overlooked. Many seniors require help saving their properties which may restore their dignity and quality of life as they enjoy the space they reside. Our seniors deserve to be heard and I want to represent them. Lastly, we live we live in the 21st century; a century full of technology yet the city of Philadelphia is poor when it comes to delivering and or relaying resources. Once in office, I will start legislating for a better way of communicating city information to the constituents of the city. It is important that all Philadelphians know what is going on and where to get the resources needed at any given time. It need not be a well-kept secret anymore; we need to a system that will provide the information as we advance in technology.
What sets you apart from other candidates?
What sets me apart from other candidates are the skills I developed as a constituent service representative. In this position has helped me to understand the importance serving the men women and young adults here in the city of Philadelphia. My training and learning how to help is by far one of my strongest points that I could say about myself which separates me from the others that are running for this office.
How do you plan to work across ideological lines to achieve shared goals?
Since my priority is working with people, it is my desire to work with all parties provided that the initial goal is not lost. My main responsibilities is to help my constituents as we work towards their goals. I want to be the face and the voice of the community as I work with all parties involved. There could be some barriers that could arise but I believe I can cross those lines of ideology and still stay focus on the goals of the constituents of the city.
